Gluten Free Thanksgiving Tips for Your Customers

Thanksgiving is a huge American tradition, where food is key. For people with Celiacs Disease or a gluten intolerance, a gluten free Thanksgiving can be hard. Not everyone understands the ins and outs of a gluten free diet. Cross contamination can happen and people can get sick as a result. Garden Spot Distributors has a few tips that you can share with your customers to have a safe and successful Thanksgiving.

For starters, the National Association for Celiac Awareness has some great tips for the holiday.  Some of their tips include:

  • Cook the entire meal yourself with only gluten-free recipes and ingredients.
  • If others insist on contributing, ask them to bring non-food items. Suggest extra ice, a bottle of wine, or even fresh flowers or candles for the table.
  • When the inevitable gluten-filled “gift” dish arrives, accept graciously and serve it away from other foods to prevent cross-contamination.
